God Plus One

"The legend of Mary Slessor"

"The White Queen of Okoyong"

"Mother of all the Peoples"

"British Vice-Consul"

"Holder of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem"

These impressive titles were all conferred on a small, red-haired Scotswoman, Mary Slessor, as a result of her pioneering missionary work in Nigera.  From insignificant beginnings in the slums of Dundee, Scotland, Mary gained legendary status through her work as a forefront pioneering missionary.  This is the story of how one woman and her God took on the unreached tribes of Calabar.

God plus One is always a majority

Mary's life is a clear indication that God uses the circumstances of our life to prepare us for His work.  Mary's upbringing in the squalid slums enabled her to endure the poor living conditions in Nigeria; her father's alcoholism gave her a passion to see drunkenness overcome with Christ; and God's presence with her in the midst of frightening situations gave her courage to proclaim the cause of Christ.

God plus One
is about unreached tribes

As a single woman missionary, Mary opened up dozens of previously-unreached villages to evangelism and education.  This one-woman reenactment uses lights, masks, and sound to bring to life the fiery Mary Slessor and the battle between whole tribes and one woman and her God.

 God plus One
is a challenge

There are still many unreached people groups.  This drama presents the need for more people toa nswer the call to go and preach the gospel.
